By way of dev update, there are two major tasks remaining before we release the vB Forums for alpha testing: - Finish porting the new vB4 style into templates. In terms of developer-hours, this is the largest single task of the project, and because of the natural flow of development, it happens to come at the very end.
- Pre-alpha regression testing. The alpha release is the earliest point at which a build is usable without major problems, so this round of testing is to make sure that the release doesn't just fall over as soon as it's installed.
Alpha will proceed in two phases: Forums first, then the full Suite. Beta will probably also be phased, but we are leaving ourselves the option of starting beta for Forums and Suite at the same time if it makes sense to do so.

当我在 2001 年受雇于 Jelsoft 时，首先做的事情是对 vBulletin 2 的风格进行了清理，为它的第 4 个 Beta 版本发布扫清了障碍。但是很多设计元素已经就位，在微调 PHP 代码的前提下无法大规模的修改。
随着 vBulletin 3 提上议事日程，为其制作默认风格的任务再一次落在了我的身上。我的目标是简化布局，建立一致的设计规则，让常用的控件更加突出，而将不常用的按钮和链接放入弹出菜单、可折叠元素中等。
